5 Tips to Organize Your Workspace
Working from home and doing school online has become the new norm and without a doubt, both have their challenges. The fine line between your work or school life and personal life has become blurrier than ever. Our day to day lives may seem more hectic especially for those of us that have multiple members of our household at home working or doing school virtually. We at XYZ Storage want to help you stay organized with at least one aspect of your life by sharing with you 5 tips to organize your workspace.
1. Keep Items on Your Desk to a Minimum
A cluttered work area can make it more difficult to accomplish tasks throughout the day. You may find yourself spending more time plowing through all of your papers in search of what you need or constantly looking for the pen you misplaced. Try only having the essentials on your desk such as your laptop/computer, keyboard, mouse, a few decorative pieces, a lamp, your beverage of choice, and a few supplies. Decluttering your workspace can in-turn help you declutter your mind. Ultimately, this can help you be more productive and efficient throughout the week.
2. Go Digital
One solution to end the huge pile of papers on your desk is to go digital! Many of us out there prefer to have notebooks and agendas full of our to-do lists. However, if you have too many papers and are constantly misplacing them everywhere attempt a digital method of notetaking and scheduling. It may help you better organize your files and keep a more organized workspace.
3. Use Storage/Filing Cabinets
Storage or filing cabinets can be your best friend! This is especially true if you have a lot of supplies that are not used all the time and can be stored nearby. A filing cabinet can help you organize your work or school supplies as well as file away any important documents. However, if you do not have space for one, perhaps take advantage of any wall space that you may have near your workspace.
4. Keeping Your Cords Organized
Are you finding that your cords are all over the place? We are constantly using technology which means that we have phone chargers, laptop chargers, lamp cords, and a whole bunch of other devices that are being plugged in throughout the day. The challenge with that is having cords everywhere! One way to solve that problem is to get a cable storage box to keep all of your cords in one place.
5. Tidy Your Space Daily
The key to keeping your workspace organized is to clean it either at the end of the day or at the start of your day. For example, if you choose to do so at the end of the day this could simply mean recycling any scrap papers you no longer need or putting away your pens.
