How to Make Space in Your Home for a Baby
Congratulations if you are expecting or your baby has already arrived! What an exciting time in your life. While it is an exciting time, it can also seem overwhelming with all of the planning and preparation that is involved with bringing a baby into this world. Declutter the Space
To help make space for the baby it is important to go through everything that you currently have and decide what you need and what you can throw out/donate/sell. This will help you and your family make room for everything that comes with having a baby. For example, if you have a spare bedroom that is currently being used as the “storage room” this will be the perfect opportunity to figure out what to do with all of these belongings. The earlier you can get this done the better so you won’t feel the pressure to sort out all of your things later on.
Shared Space
If you live in a tiny apartment or condo and cannot afford to find a bigger living space at the moment it might be best to create a shared space between yourself and the baby. For instance, if you have to share a bedroom, make it as separate as possible by perhaps using a curtain or sharing drawers to avoid having too many big furniture pieces in one room. This may be only temporary, but it is important to make the best of the situation and living space you currently have.
Create More Storage Space
Creating more storage space is key whether that is taking advantage of wall space, baskets, containers, or taller drawers to store all of your baby items. However, if that doesn’t work try purchasing baby furniture that has extra storage space whether that is with the crib, changing table, or drawers. This way you won’t have to find the extra storage space later.
