Student struggles

“Adulting” is hard – finding that perfect balance between studying for exams while working a part-time job at the campus restaurant. There are so many things running through your mind from having to pay rent, buying your own groceries, or remembering to do laundry so you don’t have to wear your comfy sweats to class yet again. Not to remind you, but you are probably trying to do all of that on little to no sleep. You probably wished at one point in time that you still lived at home, so your parents would cook dinner for you or even do the dishes.

Here are some ways to help you find the “perfect balance” in your life:

Schedule, schedule, schedule

Schedule what you are planning to do for the upcoming days, weeks, or months as it will keep you organized. You don’t want to be one of those students that forget they have an exam the next day or rushes to an exam only to find out they are in the wrong room. It can also help you remember when you have to pay your rent or when you have to pay your credit card bill, so you can keep that high credit card score of yours.

Keep track of everything you have to do on your smartphone since the chances of you nowadays not having your smartphone on you is very slim. If you are “old school” write it down with a pen and paper. A daily planner is always helpful to keep yourself organized. We know you have a busy schedule and we don’t want you to forget anything.

Set Goals

If you set goals, it will help you organize your life a whole lot better. You can start off small by starting your day off by making a small commitment to yourself. This could be anything from choosing to walk to school instead of taking the 5-minute bus ride to simply making your bed in the morning. You can also make it a goal to hit the gym one or two times a week or if you are really into it almost every day.

Decluttering and storage

It’s the end of the semester and you might find that your room is a mess. You have economics notes on the floor from that brutal exam you finished a week ago. It’s time to start decluttering and throwing out the papers you don’t need anymore. We’re sure you’ll be thrilled to get rid of all those notes that you’ve been drowning yourself in for weeks.
